Screening of Two Films of Soudley & the Forest

A screening of two films featuring Soudley and the Forest of Dean.  Tea, coffee, Pimm’s and other refreshments will be available to purchase.

‘A FORTUNATE MAN’ – a BBC film from the 1970’s following the life of a doctor in the Forest of Dean.  This featured many foresters and used Soudley School for some scenes.

This will be followed by a very recent film ‘MUDLARK’ which used the Dean Heritage Centre’s Foresters’ Cottage in some scenes.  It is a bitter sweet story set in Victorian Wales drawing on Welsh folklore, and tells the story of an orphan who scavenges on river banks and is taken in by the widow of a deceased salmon fisherman.
PLUS: The writer of ‘Mudlark’ will be available on the night to introduce the film, and then answer any questions from the audience afterwards.

Entrance fee of £1 per person to be paid on the night by cash or card.
