Upgraded Road Bridge

It is an interesting fact that we have two bridges that connect the Village Hall to the rest of the Village. The first is a pedestrian bridge and is very old.

The second bridge was constructed by the Royal Engineers sometime in the 1970s. The wooden beams that support the weight of passing vehicles were former railway sleepers. The sleepers have recently reached the end of their useful life due to wear and tear over the last five decades.

Thanks to the kind generosity of Soudley and Ruspidge Parish Council, both the sides and floor have been replaced to improve the safety of the bridge. Below is a photo gallery of the installation.
